Desert Moon Snake Hand-Embroidered Vintage Denim Jacket
Desert Moon Snake Hand-Embroidered Vintage Denim Jacket
A serious experiment in stitchery -- my very first embroidery project!
I purchased this vintage denim jacket in a little thrift shop in Sebastopol, bleached it and then went crazy with threads for somewhere between 47 and 300 hours. Time becomes irrelevant at some point during a transcendental craft adventure!
The back patch started as a vintage pillowcase from the home of my BFF and longtime Haight-Ashbury resident Larry. Then I cut it into a patch and went bananas on it, sewed it on to the jacket and put a bunch of groovy cacti and galactic night sky and moon beams on as well. And a snake. And there are a bunch of easy to use pockets with buttons, making it ideal for adventures. It's seriously the best.
This is a one of a kind creation! Size women's medium/large. This is a well made,100% cotton classic jean jacket, not sure who originally manufactured it, but it feels like good old-school, made-in-America denim. It was purchased secondhand in great condition from a locally based small business in Sebastapol, California -- supporting both the economic and ecological climates on our planet!
